About
ꕥGet the knowledge, tools and skills you need to advocate for mama's who look like you. Begin your journey as a birth worker by indulging in this self paced course that will teach you the original and holistic ways of how to start your own doula business. ꕥIt is said that “black/indigenous moms are 3 to 4 times more likely to die from pregnancy or childbirth-related causes than white mothers, and roughly two-thirds of maternal deaths in the U.S. are preventable.” This is simply because their systems protocols are experimental and procedural based, rather than case-by- case per genetic makeup. This often leads to unnecessary c-sections, hysterectomies, birthing traumas and worse case, death. Westernized systems do not teach how to care specifically for pregnant women body during labor and delivery. ꕥ As a birthworker your duty is to provide physical, emotional, spiritual and educational support throughout the entire pregnancy and to also increase the confidence of the mom so that her little one can enter Earth side safely while having a non-traumatic experience. ꕥ A Doula is a trained caregiver and experienced labor companion who provides the woman and her partner with continuous support and assistance in obtaining information before, during and just after childbirth. ꕥ There will be 3-4 virtual lectures/meetings scheduled within this course, making it easy to fit into your schedule.
